Firstly and most importantly

Buying a refurbished printer, fuser or maintenance kit is very eco-friendly. As they are recycled products, they don’t get dumped into landfill sites so help reduce environmental damage.


Warranty - For many people the main reason to buy a brand new printer rather than a refurbished machine would be that with a new printer you get the manufacturer's warranty, which can be either 12 months return to bench or 12 months on-site repair.

Print quality is exactly the same on a refurbished printer as a newer model, print speeds similar, paper handling similar etc etc..

Also in most cases our refurbished printers will be cheaper to run than the current models.

Just to show a quick comparison:

(prices as of Sept 2019)
The LaserJet P3015DN refurbished cost £205 + vat

The direct replacement is the LaserJet M507DN costs £390 + vat (so obviously more expensive)

You can also get the LaserJet M402DN at £188 + vat (it's a slightly lower spec but costs less to buy)

However, here is the most interesting part - Toner cartridges. (All the figures are based on the cost of genuine HP cartridges)
LaserJet P3015DN:
standard capacity toner £112 + vat average of 6000 pages (1.87 pence per page) 
LaserJet M402DN
standard capacity toner £92 + vat average of 3100 pages (2.96 pence per page)

So even though initial cost price of the M402DN is less, if you were to print just 500 pages per month using standard capacity toner then you would spend an extra £65.40 per year by using the M402DN. Over 3 years that's £196.20..
